Puppy Socialization

Start your puppy’s socialization as early as eight weeks. It’s vital for both dogs and their owners. So join Ellen (Leader of the Pack VC*) for some fun and learn new ways to challenge your dog.

Well-socialized puppies usually develop into safer, more relaxed, and enjoyable dogs. This is because they’re more comfortable in a wider variety of situations than poorly socialized dogs. They’re less likely to behave fearfully or aggressively when faced with something new.

*Doggin Around is pleased to make its facility available to independent trainers and may advertise their classes as a convenience to clients. The trainers operate independently and are solely responsible for their services, instruction, policies, and client agreements.

Requirements:

Puppies must be 8 weeks – 6 months old

2 rounds DHPP and Bordetella required. Bring records or email them to ellensdogs33@gmail.com at least 1-2 days before class.

No class admittance after 11:05 AM. First time participants should arrive by 10:45 to complete forms.

Only one person (18+) per dog is permitted. Additional guests must wait outside in the car.

Close-toed shoes must be worn. Sandals, high heels, and similar footwear are not permitted

AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Method

Tuesdays August 4 – September 5
6:30pm – 7:15pm
6 weeks | $200

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program focuses on all the things every puppy and owner need to have a great start together. S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility. And that’s not just for puppies but for their owners too. Come get all your puppy questions answered and earn your puppies first medal!

Ellen Henderson with Leader of the Pack VC. (714) 724-3951. These are her classes that she hosts at our facility.

What are the class sizes?

Puppy Play is first come first serve and capped at 18 puppies.
AKC S.T.A.R. class is 3-10 puppies.

What do I need to bring to class?

Puppy Play
Puppy, Collar, Leash, Vaccine Records, Wear Closed Toed Shoes.

Why should I socialize my Puppy?

Poorly socialized dogs are much more likely to react with fear or aggression to unfamiliar people, dogs, and experiences.

Dogs who are relaxed about honking horns, cats, cyclists, veterinary examinations, crowds, and long stairwells are easier and safer to live with than dogs who find these situations threatening.

Well-socialized dogs also live much more relaxed, peaceful and happy lives than dogs who are constantly stressed out by their environment.

Can I bring my significant other, children, and/or guest?

No guests are permitted.

One person ( 18+) per dog is permitted.
